DIY make a good bass car subwoofer

Step 01

collect materials

1. Driver(also called sub speaker or woofer)
2. Hard board( MDF , plywood or etc.)
3. Port

(These 3 are the most important when building subwoofer . also you need wires,carpet etc.)


Driver:

when you buy a driver(sub speaker) look about R.M.S. wattage and impedance (ohms).

R.M.S.Wattage should be equal or higher than amplifier output.
For example:if amplifier output is 200 watts(200w),the driver should be 200watts or higher
NOTE:amplifiers and drivers have  peak power like 20000w 25000w .note that it's not the r.m.s. wattage.

Also driver impedance should be(not 100%) equal to amplifier output impedance.
For example:if amplifier output impedance is 4ohm,you can use 4ohm 6ohm or 8ohm driver. But the best is 4ohm driver for 4ohm amplifier.
Also you can use 2ohm or 3ohm speaker(driver).but it's bad for life of driver and amplifier.


Hard Board: 

You can use MDF or plywood board for building subwoofer box(enclosure) .
More thickness board is best.you can use 0.5" ,0.75" or 1" thickness board.

Port:

long port is better than short port.More about port
